A View From The City, With Christine Knight-Maunder

by Laura Palmer | Feb 26, 2026

“Many things attracted me to Five Talents, but mostly a real clarity of purpose and mission, the idea of a hand up not a hand out.”

We’re proud to introduce A View From the City, a new interview series highlighting the perspectives of leaders within the Five Talents community.

In our first conversation, trustee Christine Knight-Maunder shares her deep personal connection to Africa and what drives her commitment to our work. Having recently travelled with us to see our programmes firsthand, Christine reflects on what makes Five Talents distinctive:

“When you try and do too much for too many and you lose the focus on what you are good at, then you end up not doing anything very well. Five Talents has this clarity of mission, this simplicity of purpose, and that enables them to deliver brilliantly.”

Christine is a seasoned lawyer with extensive experience in the financial services sector, having worked across Hong Kong, Singapore, London and Zurich. She spent part of her childhood in Kenya, an experience that shaped her strong commitment to championing opportunities for women across Africa.
