Humphrey Norrington, OBE
"I believe that microcredit is a very effective way of helping the poor. I know of nothing better, after almost 20 years helping World Vision which operates various developmental programmes. It is such a good idea to harness the Anglican Communion in order to reach many thousands of people in the poorest areas.”
Humphrey retired as vice-chairman from Barclays Bank in 1993. He is a Trustee of the Lambeth Fund which supports the work of the Archbishop of Canterbury. He is Chairman of Premier Christian Media Trust, a Patron of the Mildmay Mission Hospital and a Fellow of the Royal College of Music. He has also served as Treasurer of World Vision International and is a member of the Reference Board for the Anglican Alliance of Relief, Development and Advocacy.
