Sue is a lifelong Anglican and has just stood down from General Synod after 25 years of service. Passionate about the ministry of lay people, she has served in Norwich and London Dioceses in a variety of roles.
Her professional career was anything but conventional. Starting out as an analytical chemist, she gained a MPhil in Food Science whilst in a research post focusing on trace organic contaminants. After moving to a desk-based science post in central government in the late 90's, Sue chose to further her career in the corporate centre of three regulators. After more than ten years as Head of Private Offices, her last role was as Head of Corporate Governance for the Office for Nuclear Regulation.
On 'retiring' from the Civil Service, Sue was delighted to be able to transfer her skills and knowledge base to the charity sector; in particular helping promote the amazing work of Five Talents.
