In Her Corner is an investment opportunity focussed on supporting women in rural Africa - those often affected by conflict, material poverty and deep inequality - to access financial services and build micro enterprises.

Supporting women in places affected by conflict, material poverty and deep inequality in rural communities across Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Zambia and Uganda; helping women to build savings, grow businesses and harness the power of what they have.

Through the establishment of locally led savings groups, individuals - many of whom have never had access to formal banking - receive practical training in financial literacy, entrepreneurship and group leadership. With guidance and support, they launch and grow small businesses that create lasting income, resilience and financial sustainability.

How it works

  1. Join - Women in Finance Group has designated Five Talents their official charity partner and In Her Corner is an exclusive philanthropic partnership between Five Talents UK and Women in Finance Group.  It was founded in 2026 by women in the UK finance sector who want to use their charitable giving to support women across rural Africa; women who are building a more secure future for themselves and their families through financial literacy and micro enterprise.
  2. Give efficiently - Gift Aid means a £1,000 membership investment is worth £1,250 to Five Talents at no extra cost to you, and it may even be your employer will offer charity match funding  to build on your philanthropic investment.
  3. Stay close to it - You'll see exactly which women and communities you have funded, what changed, and who it reached — not a line in an annual report. A real and impactful way of investing.
