a new challenge
Join us in October 2017 for a race like no other: challenge yourself and have a long-term positive impact on the communities you run through. Take part in a timed 26.2 mile route off the tourist track through stunning scenery, gentle hills, and the villages where Five Talents UK works. If you're bored of the average city marathon, this is the race for you.
If a full marathon isn't your style, we'll also be offering half marathon and 10 kilometre options. Whichever option you choose, you'll be part of a diverse group of people from the UK, Tanzania, and the rest of the world.
A race like no other
During your week in Tanzania you will have an opportunity to visit a Five Talents’ microfinance programme and see for yourself how it changes lives. Witness exactly where your fundraising is having an impact.
You'll have time to eat, dance and enjoy life Tanzanian style, sharing stories and making connections with a great group of people. It's a genuinely unique experience organised by a professional team from Impact Marathon Series, a logistics company with with a strong track record of organising races like this. Check out our FAQs for other details.
Our basic early-bird price of £645 includes all accommodation, domestic transport, food, race logistics, and a one-day safari. We will be offering an optional gold (£745) and platinum (£895) accommodation package for those of you who need a little extra comfort!
Because Five Talents seeks to work in rural communities where people have little access to banks, Iringa is not easy to get to; it's a good 8-10 hour bus journey from Dar es Salaam.
We at Five Talents have travelled that long and winding road many times before and decided it's the last thing you'll want to tackle after a long flight and before taking on a marathon. So we've arranged for small planes to transfer you from Dar to Iringa which will take around an hour and give you breathtaking views of the country. This is all included in the price.
what does this leave me to pay?
Our package is focused on ensuring you have the best in-country experience. From the moment you arrive in Dar to the moment you leave, we've got you covered. Accommodation, breakfast, and lunch are included in each of our three packages. Additional costs for international flights, visas, personal travel insurance, alcohol, evening meals, and spending money are estimated to come to £1000. Impact Marathon Series, our logistics partner, are very good at what they do. You'll be in safe hands! Still got questions? Feel free to visit our FAQs or contact us and we'll be happy to help.
