In our latest edition of View From The City, we talk to trustee Nowtash Alsafar.
“When you are looking at investments… you invest in the individuals and you ensure that they have the right structures and frameworks around them. That’s quite similar to Five Talents – you have the women in the programmes, they are the entrepreneurs. Five Talents provides the framework and resources. And thats what struck a chord with me and why I became a trustee.
Drawing on his experience in the City, Nowtash reflects on what makes a good investment, the long-term value of financial inclusion, and the parallels he sees in the work of Five Talents across rural Africa. Nowtash leads sports capital markets at 54, a global sports media and entertainment group focused on building, scaling, and investing in industry assets. Previously, he was a Managing Director at a multi-strategy investment fund, where he worked across private equity, growth equity, and distressed assets throughout Europe. Alongside his investment career, he has also founded and scaled technology startups, giving him a deep understanding of the entrepreneurial journey.
