Church partnerships

The local church is often at the heart of the community in rural Africa, particularly in remote and fragile places that are too often overlooked and forgotten. In support of Five Talents’ mission to the most marginalised communities, the Anglican church is therefore a vitally important and valued partner. Many churches here in the UK appreciate the opportunity to be connected to those groups and Christian communities, faithfully and prayerfully becoming co-investors in unlocking sustainable transformation.

"Partnering with Five Talents has been deeply encouraging. Their passion and conviction shine through, and our recent trip to Karamoja powerfully showed how lives are being transformed. The savings groups spoke for themselves - God is clearly at the centre, and Five Talents serve faithfully as His hands and feet. Whether on Zoom or in person, their warmth reflects Christ’s love for both the communities they serve and those who support them. It’s a privilege to be part of God’s work through them."

For many Five Talents supporters their personal Christian faith is a source of inspiration and motivation for their partnership with Five Talents. Faith is a core value for us as an organisation and sits at the heart of our working relationships with partners in Africa - we model inclusivity and openness; with our programmes, partnerships and staff teams offering welcome to those of all faiths and none.

Join the prayer network

The prayer network is an opportunity to share in the mission of Five Talents through prayerful support. Each month a short reflection and update is sent out to groups and individuals who have generously committed to pray for our partners, savings group members and Five Talents staff around the globe. "We love the way we are connected with the savings groups members and partners in Uganda. In coming together as a group of family and friends, it is amazing to be a part of other families' stories as they are empowered to transform their own lives. We feel proud and blessed to be partners in this mission."

The Cockram Family, Five Talents Giving Group members

Across the country a number of groups of family and friends, often centred around a local church, have formed Five Talents Giving Groups. The groups have a focus on a particular country or programme and have the opportunity over the lifetime of a savings group cycle (3-4 years) to see a programme begin, grow and then graduate to self sustainability. Over years, through their combined commitment, the giving group members become deeply connected to the communities and people in whom they are collectively investing.
